My Go To Skincare

Skincare is something that I change quite often, I don't like to use the same products all the time because your skin does get used to it and when you do change to something new after years of the same thing it might take a bad reaction to it, which is what I have experienced in the past.

I have very troubled skin, not in terms of spots but in terms of dryness. I suffer from eczema that I've dealt with for 10 years and despite receiving further help this month, I'm still left struggling with it. I'll go into more detail on that in a future post, but with my skin today it does dry up very badly. Most teenagers dealt with hormones that effect their acne, I dealt with dry skin.

So since puberty I've had the same issue leading up to my adulthood, I've tried lots of products, drank lots of water, change of diet etc. and now that I test these things as a hobby I've found things that work perfectly for me, so here are some of my favourites!

These L'oreal masks are wonderful! Honestly I'm obsessed. I do have an Oily T-Zone strangely but the rest of my skin is dry, but the Pure Clay Detox mask (top jar) is perfect for clarifying your complexion and helps to take away little imperfections. the Pure Clay Glow Mask is great for adding a little more brightness to your skin and tightening your pores. You can use them all over the face or you can mix them. I like to put the detox mask on my T Zone and add the glow mask to the rest of my face. They are only £7.99 and have recently added more to their collection.

One of the best facial wash I've used is the Elemis Foaming facial wash, it smells amazing and leaves your skin feeling extra soft and bright. It is a pricey wash at £28 but for me I'd rather spend more money on my skincare than anything else.

Liz Earle's Cleanse and Polish is one of everybody's favourites I'm sure. But it the best cleanser I have ever used. With my skin being as sensitive as it is, it's hard to find products that don't make your skin burn or react, the cleansing polishes always work in my favour. I think one of the main reason that it works so well is that they use a lot of natural ingredients so my skin reacts in a positive way to it. Its only £16 for 100ml and a little goes a long way! I tend to always buy them in bulk because it's what I love using most. At Christmas time I buy their gifts sets for friends and family because I want to share how good it is!

For my lips I tend to use either Blistex, Dr Lipps Nipple Balm or the Elisabeth Arden 8 hour cream. Right now I have been using the 8 hour cream for extra soothing. I do tend to get dry lips easily and this stuff always helps me keep them moisturised when I need it! This is a travel sized bottle but you can get the bigger tube for £25, again it is expensive but it is multi use and will last a very long time, this small size has lasted me ages!

I change moisturisers all the time, but for now I have been using the Nivea Daily Essentials Sensitive Night Cream. Cheapest of the bunch its only £4.49 and is currently half price at Superdrug. This stuff has saved my skin the past month, I love it so much!

Thank you so much for reading, hopefully I have helped anyone who may be struggling to choose what type of products will suit their skin!
